Lesson 5 - Mean and Median

To encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about Mean and Median, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs.

Instructions for Use

Train Race allows students to calculate the mean, median and range of a sat of data.

To use Train Race, click on the level of difficulty and then the 'Start' button. Click on the trains to see the length of their last five trips. Input the required data into the table, and press the 'Go' button to see the score.

 

Mean and Median lets students change the data values on the interactive program to immediately affect the mean and median of the new data set.

To use Mean and Median, click on the point and drag it left or right. The mean and median are updated automatically.
