Lesson 3 - Comparing and Ordering Numbers

 

To encourage your child to have fun on the Web while learning about Comparing and Ordering Numbers , here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs.

Compare and order numbers to 1 000 000.

Instructions for Use

The Awards Ceremony prompts your child to compare and order numbers up to five digits.

To use The Awards Ceremony, click the button, 'Order Whole Numbers up to 100 000'. Click on the flag with the highest score, and then click on the number 1 position. Continue until all the scores are included on the chart from highest to lowest. To remove a country's score from the board, double click on the position number. To check your answers, click on the 'Awards Medals' button.

 

Comparing and Ordering Numbers lets your child compare and order numbers up to five or six digits.

To use Comparing and Ordering Numbers, select either Game 1 for comparing numbers, or Game 2 for ordering numbers.

In Game 1, select the level of difficulty to begin. Click on the correct symbol - greater than, equal to, or less than the numbers given. Click the 'Next' Button. The numbers at the top left hand corner show questions completed. There are two chances to answer the question correctly. If the question is answered twice incorrectly, the player loses one of five lives.

In Game 2, select the level of difficulty to begin. Put the numbers in the right order. Check to see if the numbers are to be sorted in ascending or descending order. Drag and drop the number in the correct location on the screen. Click the 'Check' button to see the answer is correct.
