To encourage students to have fun on the Web while learning about Unit Rates, here are some games and interactive activities they can do on their own or in pairs.

Instructions for Use

Determine a Ratio helps students reduce the ratio to its lowest terms.

To use Determine a Ratio, click the 'Start' button. Input the numbers in the proper text box. Click the 'Check ' button to see if the answer is correct.

 

Interactive Calculator lets students find unit rates.

 

To use the Interactive Calculator, present students with a question. For example, 12 eggs cost $1.44, how much does one egg cost? Have students start by inputting the number 1.44. This number will appear in the window of the calculator. Press the '÷ ' button on the calculator, and press 12. Press the ' =' button on the calculator to show the answer. Try other questions so students can determine unit rates.
